About Valerie

In the recurring role of Mail Carrier Carla, Valerie is a member of the 2007 Emmy-nominated cast of the Discovery Kids series “Hip Hop Harry.”  Her commercial credits include multiple national and regional spots for brands such as Pristiq, the United Way, Sun Trust Bank, University of Southern California and others.  She is currently rehearsing for a starring role in season two of LCP Film Partners’ hilarious, new, dark comedy, “One Warm Night” (OneWarmNight.com).  She also performs regularly with multi award-winning, professional improvisational comedy troupe, ImprovCity.

Valerie is described as a versatile, thinking actor with a dynamic presence. She has trained for over 20 years, most recently as a regular member of The Actors Room, an advanced television and film workshop http://TheActorsRoom.com . She has also studied with Kirk Baltz of The Actors Intensive, and at The Acting Center with David Palladino and others, to name a few. A native of Virginia who’s lived in 10 States and traveled to more than 20 countries, Valerie’s passions include laughter and giving back. She is a declared “foodie,” and loves meditating and searching the seashore for heart-shaped rocks. “Southern California has given me two of my favorite things: acting and living at the beach.  Life is good!”

Valerie has been a regular cast member of Orange County-based, multi award-winning professional comedy troupe, ImprovCity since 2009.

Valerie has been perfecting her comedic timing and improvisational abilities through ongoing professional training and performances with ImprovCity since 2009.  Among its recognition, ImprovCity was named 2011 and 2012 Best Place to Laugh Til You Cry by OC Hot List, as well as 2013 Best Comedy in Southern California by the LA Times Readers Poll.  ImprovCity provides clean, all-ages, quality, live comedy shows, including improv, stand-up, sketch and special themed shows like Survivor.  Valerie is also among the performers who teach improv at schools through the Troupe’s “ImprovCity High” training program.
